Speaker of Assembly Öztürkler visits TÜRKPA Headquarters

Ziya Öztürkler, Speaker of the Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, visited the headquarters of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA) and held a meeting with the Secretary-General of TÜRKPA Ambassador Ramil Hasan and Senior Assembly officials, during his stay in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to participate in the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states (PUIC).

According to a statement issued by the Assembly, Öztürkler was accompanied by National Unity Party (UBP) MP Hasan Küçük and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Şifa Çolakoğlu, as well as the TRNC’s Representative in Baku, Ambassador Ufuk Turganer.

Speaking during the meeting, Öztürkler stated that the TRNC remained firmly comnmitted to its goal of deeper integrating with the Turkic world. He noted that the President, the Prime Minister, the Assembly and Members of Parliament had represented the TRNC at numerous TÜRKPA events, contributing to the organization’s work while also taking the opportunity to highlight the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people.
