TRNC President Ersin Tatar, who is in New York for the 77th UN General Assembly, received the Secretary General of the Organisation of Turkic States, Baghdad Amreyev, at the TRNC Representative Office located in the Türkevi (Turkish House).

The meeting was also attended by TRNC Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Undersecretary of the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kemal Köprülü, TRNC New York Representative Mehmet Dana, and TRNC Washington Representative Mustafa Lakadamyalı.

During the meeting, the issues of improving relations and increasing solidarity between the TRNC and the Organisation of Turkic States were discussed.

President Tatar underlined that as a Turkish State, the support of the Organisation of Turkic States for the TRNC is of great importance and that the bond between them should be further strengthened.

President Tatar also briefed Amreyev about the latest developments in Cyprus.

Mr. Amreyev emphasized that the Organisation of Turkic States also attaches importance to its relations with the TRNC.
