The TCG Işın, a search and rescue vessel in the Turkish Naval forces inventory began search operations yesterday morning at 09.00 in the area off the coast of Girne where the maritime accident occurred.
On the vessel, which is continuing its search for the wreck using an imaging system, if a signal is detected, a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) will be deployed to identify the object.
A remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) is defined as an unmanned underwater vehicle capable of operating at depths of up to 1,000 metres and with a payload capacity of 135 kilograms.
