Five Turkish Cypriots who were killed in the Perekluşa region in Limassol by Greek Cypriot militants 42 years ago were buried at the Mağusa Canbulat mausoleum in a military ceremony yesterday.

Their remains were recently identified by the Committee of Missing Persons in Cyprus.

Terazi Martyrs Turgut Hüseyin Mercan, Hasan Hüseyin Mercan, Turgut Ahmet Erbulak, Hüseyin Ahmet and Ömer Ahmet Serman were given a proper burial with full military honours.

The District Officer of Gazimağusa Dürdane Acı, the Mayor of Gazimağusa İsmail Arter, deputies, military officials, families of the martyrs and other officials attended the ceremony.
