25 November, 2016A reception was held in Italy to mark the occasion of the 33rd Anniversary of the Establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. TRNC Representative to Rome, Oktay Öztürk hosted the reception at Bernini Hotel in Barberini Square, the capital of Rome. The new Turkish Ambassador to Italy Murat Salim Esenli, Turkish Vatican Ambassador Prof. Mehmet Paçacı, and several officials joined the reception in the capital city.
In his speech, Öztürk expressed his pleasure in celebrating the 33rd establishment anniversary of the TRNC in Rome.
Öztürk also said that although the TRNC does not have full diplomatic status, it is much more dynamic and older than many states within the EU.
In the reception, Turkish specific foods were offered to the guests and they showed great interest in the Turkish foods and desserts.
