The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will commemorate Communal Resistance Day on August 1 with a series of ceremonies and commemorative events.
The commemorative programme will honour three historic milestones: The 50th anniversary of the Security Forces Command, the 68th anniversary of the Turkish Resistance Organisation, and the 455th anniversary of the Ottoman conquest of Cyprus.
According to a statement issued by the Security Forces Command, all martyrs’ cemeteries across the country will remain open to the public until August 1.
