Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stressed that as a guarantor country, Turkey will continue to work tirelessly towards the resolution of the Cyprus problem through dialogue and diplomacy.

In his speech at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Çavuşoğlu said it was clearly seen at Crans Montana that the Greek Cypriot side does not want to reach a solution, whereas the sincere efforts of the Turkish Cypriot side and Turkey to reach a settlement were seen by the UN and EU.

Furthermore, while underlining that the Turkish Cypriot side cooperates closely with Turkey on the issue of Cyprus, Çavuşoğlu noted that Turkey is continuing its efforts to ease the isolations imposed on the TRNC, including opening further TRNC representative offices abroad and to lobby for the TRNC passport to be accepted in more countries.
