Prime Minister Üstel: “TRNC is a pillar of the OTS in the Eastern Mediterranean”

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) serves as a steadfast stronghold of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in the Eastern Mediterranean. He reaffirmed that the TRNC is ready for full membership and emphasized that concluding this process remains a key objective.

Speaking at the OTS Summit of Heads of Government in Baku, hosted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Üstel underlined that the TRNC is an integral part of the Turkic world. He stressed that, in a period marked by global uncertainties such as conflicts, economic challenges, irregular migration, and climate change, strategic solidarity among Turkic states has become a necessity.

Üstel also highlighted the TRNC’s active participation in OTS activities and expressed readiness to host ministerial meetings and technical working groups within the organization.
