Addressing the meeting of the Heads of Government and Vice Presidents of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Baku the capital of Azerbaijan, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that “The island of Cyprus, which has a strategic position, has become even more important today in light of recent developments in the region.”
Yılmaz emphasized that “We should consider the TRNC as an element representing the common presence and shared interests of the Turkic world in the region” calling on OTS member states to strengthen their political, economic, and cultural relations with the TRNC, increase their contacts, and support its rightful cause in the international community.
