9 August, 2016‘Random Attempts’, a short film directed by Doğuş Özokutan Çiftçioğlu and Vasvi Çiftçioğlu, has been selected for the shortlist of the prestigious international film festival Festival Internacional de Cine de Monterrey.
‘Random Attempts’, which was chosen from over three thousand applications from all over the world, will compete for the “Cabrito de Plata” award for short films.
The ‘Monterrey International Film Festival’ is considered one of Mexico’s most important film festivals, as well as the most popular cinema event in the north of the country. The festival will be held this year between 22-28 August.
It was announced that 2,893 submissions were made to the festival from 90 countries this year, the highest number in the festival’s history. A total of 89 films will be shown within the framework of the festival this year.
‘Random Attempts’ has been showcased in 19 different countries since its world premiere in April 2015, and has made the official selection shortlist at more than 30 international festivals. The film has won three awards – two in the USA and one in Brazil.
‘Random Attempts’ will be screened three times in Mexico, including at the 12th Monterrey International Film Festival.
